Wallabies openside flanker Phil Waugh has re-signed with the Australian Rugby Union until after the 2011 World Cup in New Zealand, the ARU said on Wednesday. The 29-year-old Waugh has accumulated 77 caps for the Wallabies since making his debut against England in 2000 and played his 100th Super rugby game for New South Wales earlier this year.
"This is not a decision I have made lightly," Waugh said in a statement. "There were many different factors to consider. However, I have a real love and passion for representing the Waratahs and Wallabies.
"I am thoroughly enjoying my rugby in Australia, and have a real drive and desire to enjoy many successes over the next period of time."
