Australia rugby union center Quade Cooper, who played all four tests for the Wallabies on a recent European tour, has been charged with burglary after allegedly robbing a residence on the Gold Coast.

Police said Cooper was released from a Southport police station on Sunday afternoon. A police media spokesman said a 21-year-old man had been charged with one count of burglary of a residence in Surfers Paradise on Sunday morning.

He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Dec. 11.

A Queensland Rugby Union (QRU) spokesman declined to comment Sunday because the matter was before the courts.

Asked if Cooper would be suspended, the QRU spokesman replied: "We've got to establish the full facts of the matter before we can decide what action if any action will be taken."

Cooper made his international debut against in November 2008, coming off the bench against Italy and scoring the winning try in a 30-20 Wallabies victory. He has played nine tests for Australia.

I think your comment is a bit rough, what happened to innocent until proven guilty? Also, Australiens are a great bunch. I get the feeling you come from a country that has a hard time beating them on the field, am I right?
